If you’re flying from or into Mehrabad International Airport airport , there are some THR airpot hotels close by. Many more Tehran airport hotels will be in downtown Tehran. You can find a cheap Tehran airport hotel for under $50 USD a night. More options closer to downtown Tehran will be more expensive.  This is the busiest airport in Iran handling international and domestic traffic. The THR aiport is a busy and modern single-terminal international airport with limited shops and dining options. Basic Information About Tehran Mehrabad International Airport

Tehran Mehrabad International Airport (THR), also known as Tehran-Mehrabad, is an airport that serves Tehran, Iran. It was the primary airport of Tehran in both international and domestic passenger traffic but has been replaced by the new Tehran Imam Khomeini International Airport for all of its scheduled international traffic. Mehrabad however is still by far the busiest airport in Iran in terms of passenger traffic and aircraft movements, handling 13,617,094 passengers in 2014.

There will be taxis. In fact, in the arrival hall you will find a couple taxi agency booths. Go up to them, tell them where you wanna go, pay the fixed standard fee and they give you a piece of paper/receipt thing. Once you get your bags, head outside to the correct taxi stand and just show your paper. They will get you a driver. One agency has green taxis, the other yellow.
