Hi Sweet World! I hope you’re enjoying your holiday weekend. Around here, it’s been the perfect start of summer. The weather was hot (90s!), so it really did feel like it. Saturday, the boy and i enjoyed grilling out burgers and dogs, lounging in the backyard and then making s’mores when it got dark. Oh, and we saw the first fireflies of the season too. Isn’t that the best feeling?! Sunday we took a trip to the ‘rents and they took us out on the lake for a bit to fish. I mainly snapped some photos. Imagine that…… Hey, I did catch 2 fish though so it wasn’t all play.
It really was a great weekend for summer activities and such a great one to bring in the season. What did you do this weekend, Sweet World? Did you get to play, or was it all work?

A new camera
Recently i got another camera to experiment with, and this is one i had been wanting since it came out. Yes, another camera. And yes, i just had to have it. It’s a La Sardina lomography camera but this one is specific to my roots (ha!). I’m talking about the ‘Virginia is for lovers’ edition. For those of you who don’t know, i’m from Virginia originally and lived there for 27+ years of my life before i just picked up and moved to the midwest.
(Above photo taken by me)
When i saw this camera, i knew it was perfect. I finally got the chance to order it and didn’t even take it out of the package for a while because it was so pretty. Hehe. Finally, i opened it and loaded it with some film and am currently working on finishing the roll. I can’t wait to get the photos developed and see how they turn out! I’ve really been enjoying film lately and love the anticipation of wondering what the photos will look like. Oh, how we’ve been so spoiled with digital! Anyhow. I also thought i’d share some photos i found online of more fun little plastic cameras that i wouldn’t mind if they somehow *wink wink* made their way into my collection.

(All photos above were found on Pinterest and original sources could not be tracked down. I did not take these photos and give credit to the owners, whomever they may be!)

Anyone interested?
I know that sponsorship is somewhat controversial in the blog world, some like it and some don’t, and i also know that my blog isn’t the most popular blog on the planet by any means, but i’m gonna throw an idea out there for the month of June. I was wondering if anyone would be interested in trading blog buttons next month? I think it would be a great way to promote each other’s blogs and get your name out there. I already do this with a couple blogs and think it’s great. Plus, i love reading their posts and they’re both super nice ladies. And even though they’re already in my sidebar, i’m going to link Sadie Dear and Le’Love again to make sure you go check them out!
Anyhow, back to the subject. If you’d like to swap blog buttons for the month of June (i almost said May there – wow, am i behind), just send me an email (hellosweetworldsays@gmail.com) and we’ll be in touch! I look forward to it.
Also, it’s been a while since i’ve shared my own links in a post so i’d like to remind you to follow me (well, if you so desire) on Bloglovin’, and definitely on facebook so you can get updates and be able to enter giveaways. I really appreciate it and really appreciate everyone who visits HelloSweetWorld!
Oh, and i also need to mention that there is finally going to be a blogger meetup here in town in June! I’ve been wanted to have one for a while so i’m so glad one has been set up. I don’t really know any of the ladies going so far but i’m so excited to meet other local bloggers! Here is more info if you’re in the area and want to go. Fun stuff!
Now here are a few of my favorite recent Instagrams to enjoy until next time…..

Television
I haven’t owned an actual TV set in a few years now, nor even had cable for a year or two prior to that, but that doesn’t mean i don’t know about or watch any television shows. I used to have to watch all my favorites every week when i did have cable and would hate to miss an episode, but now i’m past that. Plus, the internet helps with that these days, you know, with technology and all. I just want to share some of my favorite TV shows with you – some new ones and some that have been around for a few years. Most of them are sitcoms and will have you laughing. Here goes!

Suburgatory is about a daughter and father who moved to the suburbs and how they’re adjusting. The main actress is too cute and i love her style!

Who doesn’t love Parks and Rec? My absolute fave.

Cougar Town. I thought it was so cheesy at first but now it’s top on my list. Their relationships are perfect and it’s just hilarious. I would live in this sitcom. Really.

Happy Endings is a new one i’ve found and is also hilarious. A different kind of humor i love. And they’re all so pretty!

Yes, i even fell into The New Girl fad. They all just get themselves into the most embarrassing/awkward situations ever, and it’s funny.

In Plain Sight is a tv drama about the witness protection program. A little cheesy but i love her attitude and snarky comments.

Bob’s Burger. Need i say more?

Covert Affairs is another kinda cheesy one but i always loved Piper from Coyote Ugly so i was curious about this when it came out. It’s decent and all about spies.
How about you, Sweet World? Any new favorite shows you’ve found lately? What about oldies but goodies?

Horse Cave, KY
A few weeks ago when we stayed in the Wigwams, we visited a nearby town called Horse Cave. It’s a tiny town near Cave City but during my research (for geocaching, nonetheless), i found out that this town is built right on top of a cave. I had to go see it for myself. Well, and get the cache of course. But sure enough, the downtown (all one block of it) is right on top of the cave. Doesn’t sound like a smart idea to me but i guess when you have tourists like myself that want to see it, it’s not a bad idea after all. Lucky for you i was able to snap a photo. See for yourself, and then enjoy the rest of Horse Cave. Don’t blink, you may miss it!
Do you like quaint small towns, Sweet World? Or are you a city person?

Black and Whites
Well hello there, Sweet World! I know, i know – i took a few days off from the blog world. Things got busier than i could handle so posts were lacking there for a bit. My apologies. I’m back now with a post of a few photos i found a couple months ago while thrifting. These photos were in an album that was in pretty bad shape but i decided to ask if i could have the photos instead of the album and the lady said i had to buy the whole thing. For $1, i guess that was fine with me but then she actually gave it all to me for 50 cents. Score! Well, 50 cents on top of the other million things i bought…..oops! Hehe. Anyhow. These photos were just darling and i couldn’t pass them up. There were many more albums from this same person (i could tell from the writing in them) but all the other photos weren’t in there anymore. I guess these were missed and i wish i could’ve seen more. I still wonder what it would be like to live in these photographs.
Can you believe how times have changed? Do you like looking at old photographs, even if they’re complete strangers? Hopefully it’s not just me…..
